Admission Requirements for Master of Science in Accountancy

  1. No Accounting Degree
    To qualify for the MSA program, you cannot have a degree in Accounting. The MSA program is designed specifically for students who do not have a background in Accounting. Applicants with a degree in Accounting or who have any type of Accounting certification (regardless of where received) are not eligible for the program.
  2. A Four-Year Bachelor Degree
    You must have a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  3. NOTE: A degree will be evaluated AFTER the application is received. We do NOT pre-evaluate any degrees before receiving an application.

    Three-year undergraduate degrees or technology degrees may not be used to qualify for this program.

  4. Grade Point Average
    You need a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of coursework.
  5. Graduate Management Admission Test
    The GMAT exam is a required test for all applicants. A total score of 500 or better is required, including scores equal to or above the 50th percentile on both the quantitative and verbal sections.   6. NOTE: The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) are not acceptable tests for admission to the MSA program.

  7. Test of English as a Foreign Language
    If you hold a degree from a University where the medium of instruction was NOT English, the TOEFL exam is required. The applicant must receive a minimum score of 550 (paper score), 213 (computer score)or 80 (internet based). The score is valid for two years from the date of testing.   8. F-1 Visa Status
    Once accepted into the program, all international students must apply for an F-1 Visa so they can complete the internship portion of the program.
