Lecture 1: "The Human Equation"

Speaker: Spartan Football Coach Tomey

When: Monday, February 12, 2007

Where: Room # 225, Martin Luther King Library

Time: 6:15pm – 8:00pm

Networking Reception 8:00pm – 9:00pm, University Room (old cafeteria)

Co-hosted by: MBA Association

SJSU Spartans Head Football Coach Dick Tomey will be speaking to Lucas GSB students and alums as part of the Lucas Lectures in Global Leadership. Coach Tomey lead the Spartans to a 9-win, 4-loss season in 2006 that culminated in a 20-12 victory over the University of New Mexico in the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque on December 23.  More importantly, in just two years after arriving at SJSU, Coach Tomey has completely turned around a football program that won only 2 games in 2005.  While clearly requiring a team effort, without Coach Tomey's leadership, the success of the football program in 2006 would never have materialized.  In his Lucas Lecture, Coach Tomey will show how the lessons learned from Spartan football can be applied to business and career settings. This event is being co-sponsored by the Lucas Graduate Connection, the network of our graduate alumni.
