The Master of Business Administration degree offered by SJSU's College of Business is a general MBA. Our Master of Science programs provide targeted, in-depth study in the areas of Accounting, Tax, Transportation Management, and as does our dual degree MBA/MS in Engineering offered in cooperation with the College of Engineering. Our MBA programs are open to students from all disciplines and are all accredited by the prestigious AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Our MBA programs consist of fourteen courses (3 units each; 42 units in total): Ten required courses and four elective courses. The required courses are:

BUS 220 Accounting Principles
BUS 230 Marketing Management
BUS 250 Law and the General Manager
BUS 260 Managerial Decision Analysis
BUS 270 Financial Management
BUS 280 Operations and Supply Chain Management
BUS 290 Strategic Thinking

For all students, three prerequisite courses are required to be completed within the first year of study: Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, and Business Statistics. Prerequisite courses may be waived if a student meets the appropriate requirements.

The final course in the program is Strategic Thinking. This course provides a culminating experience for students that draws on the body of knowledge including principles, concepts, and techniques developed over the course of the total program.

The required courses are often prerequisites to elective courses. Students must take a minimum of four classes of elective course work. Elective courses are offered in the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Organizational Development, Global Business Development, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development, and Information & Operations Management.

Our Master of Business Administration/Master of Science in Engineering joint degree program that is comprised of College of Business graduate courses and College of Engineering graduate courses. The program is 52 units in total.
