San Jose State University

Lucas Graduate School of Business pays tribute to its outstanding students!

The 2008 edition of the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition held in San Diego brought remarkable achievement to both our graduate and undergraduate teams.

Our graduate team dominated the competition from start to finish, both in the remote (Internet-based) and intensive phase held last week from Thursday through Saturday in San Diego. The team - Sight Joining Sound Unlimited - included Charmy Ruparel, Chad Webb, Warinda Rijiranuwat, Shannon Laoye, Eric Wang, and Min Yan. From among teams competing in their division, Sight Joining Sound Unlimited won the first place award in both available categories: financial performance and written reports.

Our undergraduate team had a closer contest, but in the end emerged victorious over its main competitor San Diego State University. The team - Beyond Storage - consisted entirely of overachievers from the Sbona Honors Program: Pedro Alvarez, Christine Ermatinger, Harry Kaura, Justin Virrey, and Janelle Small. Beyond Storage won the first place award in both available categories: financial performance and written reports.

This is the best performance not only of San Jose State University but of any university in the history of this competition.
